By placing an order with Swings & Pretty Things Ltd you enter into a contract which is subject to our terms and conditions. By placing an order you have agreed to have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.


Swings & Pretty Things website and terms and conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.

Ordering
We ask that you supply us with your full name and address and contact telephone number.

Gift wrapping service:
Please e-mail us before placing the order to enquire if our complimentary gift wrapping service is available for your chosen items. Unfortunately it is not possible on some of the larger items. Once your order is complete we will send you a confirmation e-mail.

Payment & Security
Swings & Pretty Things are a Thawte Authenticated site and on-line transactions are processed by Sagepay (formally Protx). Our website is validated and you can transact safely and securely with us.


Rebranding of Protx to Sagepay As a business trading online, we take internet fraud very seriously and wanted to take this opportunity to reassure you of our security measures. It is our responsibility to ensure that your card details are not compromised while shopping with us and as such we have chosen to work with leading payment services provider Protx. Protx provides a secure payment gateway (Level 1 PCI DSS), processing payments for over 24,000 online businesses, including ours. You may have noticed the Protx logo — a recognised mark of security — on our website and payment pages, where you enter your card details. Protx has recently informed us that from 21 April 2009 it is to change its name to Sage Pay. The switch to Sage Pay is a strategic move by the company, which is owned by business management software provider Sage, and services will not be affected in any way. From a day-to-day perspective there will be no difference to the service, but we wanted to assure you of our continued commitment to security on our site by making you aware of Protx and the subsequent rebrand to Sage Pay.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, SOLO, Visa Electron and Maestro. We also take cheque's, but please allow 7 days for the cheque to clear for items to be dispatched
All prices are in GBP and include the VAT at current rate.
On receipt of your order we will send a confirmation of the items you have requested, please check all details carefully.

Delivery:
Standard flat rate delivery is £5.99 for each order within the UK. With the exception of the carved oak swings where delivery is £15.00 due to the size and weight.

Should you wish us to post outside of the UK, before processing an order please contact us and we will get a cost for your selected destination address.
Our boxes are re~used whenever possible so whilst the goods on the inside are perfect and beautifully wrapped the box on the outside may be 'second hand', we hope you understand and reassure you that we try to recycle whenever possible.
All items are sent on a 3~5 working day delivery service (Monday to Friday being working days. All orders are subject to availability.
Orders will be dispatched to the address given upon ordering, failure to give the correct address will result in a further postage charge to re-send the package.
All items will be posted next working day subject to stock. Order received after 2.00pm will be dispatched the following working day.
Please note: all delivery dates are estimates and we are not liable for any personal loss due to delays.

Availability:
Should an item be out of stock we will contact you to advise of the estimated delivery time. We can only give an estimation of the delivery date, but please be assured we will do out very best to get the item to you as soon as possible.
You have a right to cancel your order before dispatch and we will refund in full your payment within 28 days of cancellation. (Please refer to details for Personalised items)

NB! Cancellation & Returns of Personalised Carved Swings,jewellery & More Than Words Canvas:
Once your order is placed for any personalised item you have a 24 hour period in which to cancel. If after this time the required wording has started to be carved /stamped then these items cannot be cancelled and no refund will be given.
The Carved Oak Swings are made from unseasoned English green oak. Green Oak is timber that has not been seasoned – it still has a high water content from being the trees’ life blood. This timber is chosen because in the course of steadily drying out in the atmosphere the swings will warp, contort, twist, perhaps split, giving each piece a wonderful individual character. These characteristics are not faults in the wood. It is important you are aware of this before making a purchase.
Personalised orders are non returnable, however if a mistake has been made by Swings and Pretty Things we will correct the error or refund if required.
More Than Words Canvas: Once a proof has been approved by the customer no changes can be made and the item is non returnable. All Personalised orders are non refundable, however if a mistake has been made by Swings & Pretty Things we will correct the error or refund.
Personalised JewelleryMade from Sterling silver & is hand stamped to order. The text is hand stamped and will not be perfectly straight.
Your statutory rights are not affected.

Products:
All descriptions are accurate at the time of publishing. It is the responsibility of the customer to read the manufacturers instructions, which will be included where applicable, and guidelines for safe and correct use of products. Swings & Pretty Things Ltd are not liable for any loss or injury caused by the use of any products sold except to a maximum of the product value.

Returns
It is very important to us that you are 100% happy with everything you order from Swings & Pretty Things, if you are not for any reason please allow us to rectify the situation. We will do our very best to ensure any queries you may have are resolved quickly with as little hassle to you as possible.
If for any reason you are not happy you may return the goods to us within 14 days. (from date of dispatch) with the exception of personalised jewellery or carved oak swings (see above)
Please contact us before returning the goods for a returns number. Items will not be accepted without a returns number. You can contact us by telephone or e-mail. (see our Contact us page) All we ask is that the goods be unused, in perfect condition and in their original package. Please enclose the returns note with the item which will be sent to you upon request.
Swings & Pretty Things will refund the cost of your items (excluding postage) within 14 working days.
Returns must be sent using recorded delivery as we can take no responsibility for goods lost in transit. Please retain your proof of postage.
In the rare event you receive damaged items please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. We will then arrange a refund or we can replace the items (subject to availability). We will require the damaged items to be returned to us by recorded delivery and in this instance will refund your postage costs of the damaged items (up to a maximum postage cost of £10.00).

We do strongly advise all customers to check their order upon receipt, any breakages reported after 24 hours will be refunded / replaced at the managers discretion.

Cleaning and Care of jewellery
Polish all of our jewellery with a clean jewellery microfibre polishing cloth avoiding any gold plated areas.
Do not spray perfume or other solvents on to jewellery.
Always store your jewellery carefully after wearing.
Do not use silver dips.
Do not wear in the shower, in bed or whilst swimming.


Privacy:
Swings & Pretty Things will not give or sell customer information to third parties. We abide by the Data Protection act 1998 and will only collect information needed to process your order (name, address, telephone number and payment details).
We will process all personal data fairly and lawfully with the consent of the individual.
We obtain data for specified lawful purposes.
All data we collect is relevant to our purposes.
We will not keep data longer than necessary.
We take appropriate technical methods to protect the security of personal data.
Although any e-mails and attachments sent from Swings & Pretty Things Ltd are believed to be free from virus, it is the responsibility of the recipient to ensure that they are virus free. We strongly advise you to carry out your own virus check before opening any attachments.
Swings & Pretty Things cannot accept liability for damage caused as a result of software viruses.
